Coleen d’Avignon, a self-taught artist, has been beading since the late 80’s.  Originally perfecting her technique in Sedona, Arizona, she applied her beadwork to her hand crafted leather bags, reflecting the Native American style of the Southwest.

After moving to Maui in 2004, she was introduced to the art of Japanese ‘kumihimo’ and fell in love with this ancient technique of weaving. By using this technique, 8 strands of beads along with freshwater pearls and semi precious gems are woven together to create one-of-a-kind necklaces and bracelets.

In July of 2007 Coleen was juried into the Lahaina Art Society. In September 2007 she was juried into the Maui Crafts Guild, an artist co-operative in Paia, Maui.  She presently sells her work at the Maui Crafts Guild and is part of the 'Art on the Green' program at the Emerald Golf Course in Wailea.

Her prices range from $95.00 to $495.00, depending on the length and gemstones used.  If there is a piece you see on the site that is of interest, please contact Coleen at Coleen@davignondesigns.com.  She will get back to you shortly.

Aloha!
